About Alyssa

Me

Art has always been a passion since childhood. I’ve since developed a love of the outdoors and decided to combine the two whenever possible.

Plein Air Please!

Much of the art featured here is “en plein air” – an approach to painting which is fully outdoors and onsite instead of in a studio. My plein air journey has been short but intense – I started in 2021 with a local workshop. I participated in my first quick draw event in 2022. A year later, I applied to the 2023 River Towns Plein Air festival and was accepted as a juried artist! It was a huge leap for me and I learned so much from the opportunity.

To say I’m hooked would be an understatement.

Adventurer

I’ve travelled all over the world and love experiencing different ways of life (people, food, landscapes, etc). One of my most proud and memorable travels was when I thru-hiked Vermont’s Long Trail in 2021. It was a truly humbling trek learning how to live with only the things on your back.
